Geriatric medicine is the science of treating and caring for older people. Geriatricians are clinicians practicing geriatric medicine.

Who are Board Certified physicians?
Physicians that have met the required credentials and passed the qualifying exam. They are certified by the American Board of medical specialties as Diplomates of Geriatric Medicine.

Does my insurance cover the cost of care?
Medicare and most of private insurances cover 80% of physician charges and 100% of hospital charges after the deductible. You do have choice of sign up with HMO to cover 100% but coverage is commonly subject to approval and the use of physicians is limited to the insurance panel.

When I am not able to make decision for myself to live independently at home what can I do?
There are legal procedures to establish the Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care. There are choices of home health care or skilled nursing and boarding facility arranged and cared by your geriatric doctors.

People live longer because of the research and studying of aging, producing better knowledge of nutrition and medicine. Early detection of most diseases and prevention have become available. We can help you or your loved ones reach the goal of healthy aging.
